Live Seahorses
In
almost every comic book you'll find ads for live seahorses. I hate to
think about how many probably died at the hands of disappointed 8 year
olds but those were different times. I wanted these soooo much but I never
ordered them.
I did, however, see a batch of them in the early 90s and I was surprised to see how small they really were and I was even more surprised when they managed to live for an extremely long time in a glorified goldfish bowl. So maybe with proper care some of them did okay after all.
In any event, these ads are great examples of how to write great copy to sell unique products.
